Keith Urban's upcoming December Australian tour has been postponed to next year due to the ongoing travel and mass gatherings restrictions currently in place.
The five-time ARIA and four-time Grammy Award winner will now headline shows in Gold Coast, Brisbane (x2), Sydney (x2), Wollongong, Newcastle, Adelaide and Melbourne (x2) December 2022. There is no Perth concert in the revised dates."Oz, it's Keith here, I just want to let you know from me personally, that we just got word that our Speed Of Now world tour is unable to come to Australia this December due to potential travel restrictions, COVID issues, capacity issues.
"I am so sorry guys. I've been psyched to come and play for so long, so we're going to have to push our tour off to December 2022, but we are going to bring it in 2022.
"I want to say thank you to every one of you for your patience, your passion, every one of you."
Joining Keith at all shows next year will be special guest Birds Of Tokyo, who perormed the halftime show at last month's AFL Grand Final in Perth.
The band also recently released their first new song of 2021, 'Superglue', that features guest vocals by Stand Atlantic's Bonnie Fraser and is the first Birds Of Tokyo song to feature such a cameo.
"We always heard this song as coming from two distinct viewpoints, so it made sense to share the vocals and get both sides of the story," guitarist/ songwriter/ producer Adam Spark says.
"We're all fans of Stand Atlantic so Bonnie was the first name on our list. Hopefully we can get to play the song live together somewhere when borders eventually reopen.”
Tickets already purchased remain valid for the rescheduled dates. Refunds are also available.
Tickets are currently on sale for the 2022 dates.
