Reggae icons Katchafire return for their annual pilgrimage to Australia with a 12-date tour this November.
The Kiwi legends, best known for such soulful jams like 'Love Letter', 'Get Away', 'Down With You' and 'Collie Herb Man', will be promoting their forthcoming new album 'Revival 2.0', which sees songs from their debut record being remixed, remastered, and re-recorded with revered reggae names from around the world."Aussies – you called, we answered! The tour will commence in Margaret River before heading to Fremantle, Bunbury, Perth, Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Wollongong, Sydney and Melbourne (x2 shows).
Originally released in 2003, 'Revival' features the aforementioned 'Get Away' and 'Collie Herb Man' as well as fan favourites like 'Who You With', 'Seriously' and 'Giddy Up'.
"Originally recorded around 2000, the 'Revival' album was the band's first time together in a studio, our first time tracking and mixing, and they weren't as hands-on as they are now with the process," Katchafire singer and founding member Logan Bell says.
"We felt that certain aspect of the finished album left us wanting, so remixing the album is something we've always talked about.
"Twenty-three years on we got the chance, and it was really fun to hear the original studio performances. They still stand up today and it made me feel real proud of those early recordings and the OG team."
Released last year, the first taste of the reworked songs is 'Seriously (Revived Version)'. "The song 'Seriously' is a love lament," Logan Bell says. "I remember writing the tune all up in my feels about neglected love interests of the day.
"We were pretty driven to make a career out of music and I would put those pursuits to the side because the band took precedence over everything else."
