International K-pop sensation Twice will return to Australia after four massive sold-out arena shows earlier this year, to play one exclusive stadium show for Melbourne.
The show makes Twice the first female group to headline a stadium in Australia, and the first K-pop stadium concert in the country.
For the uninitiated, Twice formed in 2015 under JYP Entertainment and is made up of members Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. Twice is one of the best-selling K-pop groups of all time, having sold more than ten million albums, and received nearly six billion streams on Spotify. They’ve performed on shows like ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ and ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’, plus they’ve been nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards.
This year’s Billboard Women In Music Awards saw the group honoured with the Breakthrough Artist award.
It was their debut song ‘Like OOH-AHH’ and 2016 breakthrough single ‘CHEER UP’ which went on to top multiple Korean pop charts. Between 2016-2019, Twice released a slew of mini albums and singles, and their mini album ‘MORE & MORE’ made the Billboard 200 in 2020.
Last year Twice completed their world arena tour, and their EP ‘BETWEEN 1&2’ entered the Billboard 200 Album Chart at number three. It holds the biggest pure sales week record for an album by a female K-pop act in the US.
Tickets are on sale 6 September at 12pm.
Twice play Marvel Stadium (Melbourne) on 4 November.
