Australian folk, roots, indie rock troubadour, Jordie Lane is getting back to what he loves doing best, performing onstage to a live audience.
Jordie will take to stages in Castlemaine, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney as well as two-day stop at regional WA event Nannup Music Festival from late February to early March.He also has new music from his forthcoming EP 'The Empty House Tapes Vol. 2' incoming with the imminent release of 'The Relentless Pursuit' single (out 27 January); Jordie will then release a new track from the EP every two weeks.
"It barely feels like a minute since Volume 1, but it gives me great joy to announce that 'The Empty House Tapes Vol. 2' is on its way, and I'm really excited to get back out on the road and share this new batch of songs with you.
"The first round of shows announced is back home in Australia, and along with the spontaneous ramble of Volume 1, I'll look forward to sharing more of the country leaning sound of Volume 2 on the EH Tapes.
"The first weekend is gonna be a lot of fun. Starting with Castlemaine, Victoria, where I'll play as a duo with upright bass player Isaac Barter, and we'll have special guest, and one of my all-time favourite songwriters and voices ever, Brendan Welch. Remember my release of, 'Think I Always Thought', Brendan wrote that masterful piece!
"Melbourne, will be a special one as always but, along with Brendan opening the show again, I'll be performing songs from both Volumes 1 & 2 of the Empty House Tapes for the first time as a trio featuring Isaac Barter (bass) and Michael Hubbard on dobro and pedal steel (Downhills Home, Jen Cloher, Ella Hooper).
"We'll also have a Nashville style 'in the round' with extra special guest. It's an arvo show, and although not advertised as family-friendly, if you need to bring the kids along, you can call ahead and check with the venue.
"I really can't wait to get back to some states and cities I haven't played in almost four years. Anyway, I hope you're all doing well out there, sending much love."
