In an Australian exclusive, Country Fest Queensland will welcome American roots-rock royalty in 2024 when John Fogerty headlines – his first time down under since 2012.
The acclaimed singer-songwriter with such hits as 'Centerfied', 'Rockin' All Over The World', 'The Old Man Down The Road' and 'Rock And Roll Girls' will also perform a second set of classic Creedence Clearwater Revival numbers like 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain', 'Fortunate Son' and 'Bad Moon Rising' – this will be Fogerty's first time performing CCR material in Australia since 1972."We're bringing the celebration down under," posted the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member to his socials. "We'll see you on March 31st at Country Fest in Queensland.
"It's been over ten years since we played in Australia and we are looking forward to coming back."
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Giya/ Bumbarra lands in the stunning Mackay and Whitsunday region, the inaugural Country Fest Queensland drew 11,000 fans to its two-day music and camping event last year.
To take place the Easter long weekend (30-31 March), Fogerty will be joined by a trio of Australian musicians representing multiple generations of country music: outback legend Lee Kernaghan, rising global star Morgan Evans ('Kiss Somebody', 'Day Drunk'), and former Australian Idol contestant James Johnston ('Raised Like That').
"Australia! We're coming to play Country Fest QLD in March! I am a massive CCR fan, so this weekend is gonna be epic," shares Evans. Adds Johnston: "North QLD we're coming your way! This is going to be huge!"
There's a tractor-load more talent from around Australia headed to Country Fest Queensland including Bella Mackenzie, Lane Pittman, Luke Geiger, Max Jackson, The Wolfe Brothers, Tori Darke, Zac & George and Zac Cross Band.
