If Elvis and Buddy Holly are the Cain and Abel of rock and roll, Bruce Springsteen is Zachariah, Iggy Pop is Methuselah, and, of course, Neil Young is the wise prophet Ezekiel, then what does that make John C. Reilly?
We're not sure, but we'll have plenty of time to figure it out when he comes to Australia for two special bluegrass music shows in Sydney and Melbourne. He'll be joined by his friends — Tom Brosseau and Lavender Diamond's Becky Stark — for dates at The Factory and Northcote Social, two venues chosen specifically because they have extra space to do activities.
Once known virtually exclusively as a dramatic actor (which is just weird to think about now), Reilly has since made a name for himself as a comedian with roles in films like Step Brothers, Walk Hard and Talladega Nights, and as a musician with two 7" records released through Jack White's Third Man Records.
Expect Aboriginal percussionists and an army of digeridoos (fifty thousand digeridoos!) on the following dates:
