While enjoying some rare time-off in New Zealand, bass player of John Butler Trio Byron Luiters broke his wrist snowboarding – ouch!
With weeks of recovery and rehabilitation ahead of him, the trio have unfortunately had to postpone their Queensland shows in October until March next year. The good news is that Byron will be fit to perform with JBT at the Falls Festival and Southbound shows.
Being a man down, John Butler will be performing solo at this year's Caloundra Music Festival on Saturday 4th October (at 6pm instead of 8:30pm). To replace JBT, Megan Washington and her band will be added to the bill (so it's not all bad news!). All tickets for the October headline tour dates will be automatically valid for the new March dates, and it's not to late to purchase a ticket if you're still in need.
With the changes of dates come a new opening act too, We Two Thieves, the side project of Mama Kin and Emily Lubitz (Tinpan Orange). These two songbirds will deliver a magical and mischievous set of soulful folk tunes from their debut album 'At Midnight We Ride'.
