John Butler Trio Australian Tour

Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

John Butler Trio have announced their biggest Australian tour in four years. The Fremantle roots band will play 13 dates in March and April next year, visiting major capital cities and regional centres around the country.

The tour is staged in support of John Butler Trio's upcoming “Flesh and Blood” album which is set for release in February next year. The band's sixth studio album, “Flesh & Blood” was recorded in John Butler's Fremantle Studio with production from Way Of The Eagle frontman Jan Skubiszewski.

"I hope they go on a journey with it or take it with them on a journey,” explains Butler. "I hope it can be the soundtrack for some cool moments in their life and some shit moments in their life and I hope it can be there for them at the ebb of their energy wave and at the crest of it. In the loud times and the quiet times. That would be nice, and I think that's what all good art's done for me. It's been there for me, in one way, or another."

New drummer Grant Gerathy joins the “Flesh and Blood” tour after being introduced to John Butler Trio fans in a run of shows at intimate city venues earlier this year. Audiences can expect a setlist that encompasses new material as well as John Butler Trio classics.
