A new, revitalised line-up for north Queensland’s Savannah In The Round Festival is here.
The new line-up comes as a result of previous acts being unable to travel to the festival venue.
“Thankfully we live in a country that’s rich with musical talent from end to end,” Festival Director James Dein says. “Something we would never do is compromise the quality of the event we’re delivering for the tropical north, so rest assured the 20 plus new artists we’re welcoming to the event today will make for an incredible celebration of music – something we all need now more than ever.”
The artists no longer able to attend, due to COVID hotspots and border restrictions, are Lime Cordiale, Tex Perkins ‘The Man in Black’, Shannon Noll, The McClymonts, Fanny Lumsden, Felicity Urquhart, Jasmine Rae, Christie Lamb, Darlinghurst, Kirsty Lee Akers, Jetty Road, The Buckleys, Southbound, Rachael Fahim, Missy Lancaster, Blake O’Connor, Raechel Whitchurch, Yazmindi, Abbie Ferris, Chelsea Berman and Jake Davey.
Sticking around from the original line-up and able to make the event are John Williamson, Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley, Graeme Connors, Busby Marou, The Wolfe Brothers, Brad Cox, Casey Barnes and more.
The new line-up (check it out below) tops more than 40 artists including industry legends and current chart-toppers – genres spanning country, rock, roots and pop. Meanwhile, Savannah In The Round will also host an Indigenous cultural programme, community entertainment, local produce and goods, paddock to plate and a bunch of options in the way of accommodation – there are drive-in campsite, rent-a-tent and luxury glamping, all the way to five-star options.
“As we unite and recover from COVID-19, major events like Savannah In The Round are an opportunity to celebrate our resilience, while showcasing homegrown artists and contributing to regional economies”, Member for Cook Cynthia Lui says. “I hope visitors extend their stay beyond the long weekend, supporting local tourism operators, while exploring the many natural splendours of the tropical north.”
