Adelaide's iconic live venue, Jive will expand its business with the addition of a record store.
A collaboration between Jive owner Tam, and friends Phil and Robert, the mezzanine level of Jive (from 3 November) will transform into a record store by day, housing hundreds of new and used vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, and tour t-shirts, as well as secondhand turntables, speakers and amplifiers.
The downstairs level will continue to operate as a casual lounge bar, with the inclusion of coffee, and toasted sandwiches supplied by The Sneaky Pickle. There’ll be records playing, movies on the big screen, free board games and football.
Phil has been a long-time collector, so the beauty of this set-up is that stocks will be replenished on a weekly basis, so there’ll always be new records to peruse. The collection is extensive and covers all genres including: rock, punk, classical, pop, dance, world and much more.
The ‘pop-up’ style of this set-up also means the venue will continue to operate as a live music venue by night.
So come in and buy a record, have a beer, or just lounge about listening to some cool tunes.
