Jimmy Barnes Australia 2025 Tour

Jimmy Barnes
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

One of the living legends of Australian rock, Jimmy Barnes will celebrate his new album with a national tour this winter.

The Cold Chisel frontman, who has battled recent health setbacks to return to the stage last year (read our review of Cold Chisel's Gold Coast concert), will headline gigs in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra in June.

The run of shows is in support of the iconic rocker's new record 'Defiant' (his 21st record that will be released 6 June - pre-order it), which features the double-single 'New Day' and 'Beyond The River Bend' that are both released today.

"I'm really looking forward to getting back onstage with my band again," Jimmy says. "I'm so proud of this new record – all the songs mean a lot to me and I can't wait to share them with you. It's going to be some serious fun!"

The accompanying music video for 'New Day' was directed by Paul van Kan starring Troy Cassar-Daley and Laurel Edwards. "The song is about shaking off the problems in your life, picking yourself up, and starting fresh. Here I am, I'm ready to start again – it's a new day," shares Jimmy.

While 'Beyond The River Bend' was inspired by the Barnes' family home in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales where "hope keeps flowing like water". It's a thread that weaves through this music as it does through Jimmy's life.

Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 28 February.
