Jeremy Zucker is one of a kind in the best way.
Initially making music in his bedroom while still at school, he carefully crafted his emotions and experiences into relatable lyrics and catchy instrumentation which would capture the hearts of millions. His breakout hit 'Comethru' has been streamed almost 650 million times on Spotify alone.Zucker also shows a knack for collaborations having completed projects with RL Grime, blackbear and Bea Miller, while he has released two EPs with Chelsea Cutler.
Fresh from hitting Lollapalooza, Reading and Leads, and Firefly festivals during the northern hemisphere's summer, Zucker is ready to hit Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane commencing next week.
"It's going to be my first time ever in Australia. I'm really excited, I've heard so many amazing things about the country and people," Jeremy says.
"The thing I'm most excited for, when it comes to the shows, is hearing my lyrics shouted back at me with an Australian accent. I've heard it with a lot of different accents, and it's always a really funny, shocking moment. That's when it feels the most real."
Jeremy just released 'I'm So Happy' featuring BENEE, a delicate bop showcasing Zucker's trademark sentimentality accompanied by a sticky-pop melody and warm, bouncy basslines. "It was an idea that I started quite a long time ago, and by the time I finished the chorus, I knew that I wanted a feature on it.
"I knew I needed someone who was really fun and goofy and uplifting and funny. I was like 'I think I need BENEE on this'.
"She recorded her verse on tour, and she happened to be in LA when I got back from my European tour, so we did the content together and finished the song and shot a music video. It was a lot of fun."
Zucker released his second album 'CRUSHER' October 2021, choosing to steer towards a heavier production than his previous bedroom-based releases, and recorded live drums and guitar for the record.
He has enjoyed seeing audience's reaction to the new sonic direction of his tracks. "'i-70' is such a feel-good, uplifting song, and it's great to see everybody really loving it.
"When I made it, it made me feel really happy. It's me getting out of my feels, and trying to be a little lighter and brighter and having more fun with it."
Jeremy's Instagram features a wide array of fashion, something he has been exploring more frequently. "I love what's current and modern, and I was loving the Y2K revival last year.
"Now I'm into retro punk/ future punk. It's really grungy, a lot of ripped and distressed and oversized clothing with weird futuristic elements tied in, like windshield wiper glasses. It's a lot of fun. I'm finding it a really nice way to express myself outside of music."
His love for all things eye catching extends to animals as well, as shown by his preferred choice of pet. "I really want an Afghan hound.
"It's large and kinda skinny and they're famous for their really long hair. If you brush it and take care of it, it almost looks like a horse's hair. It's a really sheik dog, and they're also really loyal and really smart. I recently researched this a little bit.
"I'm a dog person. I used to be anti-cat, because I grew up with a really mean cat. I could see myself having a cat, but I don't think I would have a cat without a dog, they would have to get along.
"Dogs just love you so much and it's so nice. Cats have so much of an ego, and you really have to earn their friendship. Whereas, dogs will just love you and it's awesome."
