As the first rays of summer lash the Australian landscape, annual music festival SummerSalt returns with a stacked line-up for their 2024 season.
English folk-rock, Americana singer-songwriter James Bay ('Let It Go', 'Hold Back The River') will join Australian soul, indie folk-rock musician Matt Corby ('Resolution', 'Miracle Love') in co-headlining the six instalments of SummerSalt next March: Lake Macquarie, Wollongong, Melbourne, Ballarat, Brisbane and Adelaide.Bay has released two new singles in 2023: 'All My Broken Pieces' and 'Goodbye Never Felt So Bad', representing his first release of original music since 2022's 'Leap'. While Corby earlier this year released his third studio album 'Everything's Fine' (featuring the cuts 'Reelin', 'Problems' and 'Big Smoke').
"So excited to be coming back next March for a run of dates with these wonderful people [at SummerSalt]," shares James.
"I wrote ['All My Broken Pieces'] a long time ago, but it feels only more relevant and important to my life today than it ever has. So I decided it was time to show it to the world. I hope you love it."
The rest of the line-up features Ziggy Alberts, Thelma Plum, Kita Alexander, and Mia Wray – except for Brisbane where John Butler performs in place of Ziggy and Gretta Ray steps in for Kita at the Lake Macquarie leg.
"SummerSalt! Looking forward to this one and a couple epic regional spots too! Where will I be seeing you?" asks Ziggy. Adds Thelma: "March plans sorted. Can't wait to visit these beautiful places! Hope I see you at a show."
While Kita is stoked to hang with some of her mates while trialling new music from her forthcoming debut album 'Young In Love' (due in March). "Sooo excited to be doing this festival run with my mates (Thelma Plum and Matt Corby)!
"Also this will be happening right before my album drops, so I reckon I'll be sneaking in some unheard album bangers for sure."
