A certified rock & roll hitmaker, American musician-songwriter Jackson Browne returns to Australia for the first time in half a decade next year.
The 'Running On Empty', 'Doctor My Eyes', 'Stay' and 'Somebody's Baby' icon will headline his own concerts in Melbourne and Sydney as well as heading to Perth to play a day on the green (alongside The Waifs and Helen Shanahan) April 2023.A musician who has remained active throughout his 50-plus year career (that began back in the mid '60s when he wrote 'These Days' as teenager, a song that would become a hit for Andy Warhol's protege Nico and has been covered a stack of times including Miley Cyrus in 2020), last year Jackson released his 15th studio album, the Grammy nominated 'Downhill From Everywhere'.
An inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (in 2004) as well as Songwriters Hall of Fame (in 2007), Browne is also renowned for his activism on behalf of the environment, human rights, and arts education.
He is the co-founder of Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE) and Nukefree.org, and a member of ocean advocacy group Ocean Elders.
Fresh from touring the US as a special guest of Midnight Oil and winning Best Independent Blues & Roots Album at the 2022 AIR Awards, musician-songwriter Liz Stringer will open proceedings in Melbourne and Sydney.
Tickets to Melbourne and Sydney shows on sale from noon (local time) on 25 August. a day on the green tickets will be available from 25 August.
