Pop-folk icon, Jack Johnson returns to Australia late 2026 and he'll be joined by Ben Harper and John Butler, who'll each perform solo acoustic sets.
The 'Better Together' and 'Banana Pancakes' hitmaker will headline concerts in Brisbane, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne this November.
Jack will will be joined onstage by his long-time bandmates Adam Topol, Merlo Podlewski and Zach Gill, with fans promised a classic set featuring all the hits including 'Better Together', 'Flake', 'Inaudible Melodies', 'Taylor' and 'Sitting, Waiting, Wishing'.
The run of dates marks Johnson's return to the road for the first time since 2022, and aligns with the release of 'SURFILMUSIC', a documentary film chronicling Johnson's evolution from surfer to filmmaker to world-renowned musician.
It follows him from his youth on the north shore of Hawaii through the making of his iconic surf films 'Thicker Than Water' (1999) and 'The September Sessions' (2000), to the beginning of his music career.
The film's soundtrack was scored by Jack Johnson and Hermanos Gutiérrez, and is set for worldwide release on 15 May.
"It kind of happened by accident. We used to make surf films, Kelly Slater and Rob Machado and Chris Malloy and a bunch of friends travelled around making these films," Jack told us in a recent interview (stay tuned for that next week) about how 'SURFILMUSIC' first became a project.
"We had them on VHS in the beginning, then eventually on DVD. Right around then, my music career started taking off and we forgot to put them online. One day I went to show my kids dad's surf movies and we tried to look them up.
"I only found somebody on YouTube who had filmed their TV, it was really bad quality. So we started going through this old footage that didn't make the films.
"We made some parts for social media and those parts kept connecting to each other, and all of a sudden, we had this bigger piece.
"Around the same time, I got footage from one of my uncles. He used to shoot Super 8 films of surfing. He literally had my first steps, and mum catching me in the front yard when I'm trying to walk. It's trippy, there's footage of my brothers holding me on a surfboard and stuff. Suddenly we had a beginning.
"A big part in the old films is a surfboard called the Green Board. We found that and had younger contemporary surfers ride it, which became the back end of the movie. It kept piecing together and I was the through line through it.
"It's weird to have a movie about yourself coming out, but it's fun. It's a film about friendship and collaboration, about making stuff with your friends."
