As the uncertainty about border closures and snap lockdowns continues, organisers of the annual SE QLD music festival Island Vibe have decided to postpone the event to 2022. The new dates are 17-20 February.
"Scribe it in your ship's log, me droogies!" the festival says. "Tickets are literally flying out the port hole for the long-awaited and much postponed Island Vibe Episode 15."Tickets will be capped at 2,500 and we are well into Round 3 – so don't hesitate, tickets will sell out."
Tickets already purchased roll over to the new 2022 dates; refunds are also available. Contact the festival direct.
For local residents, Island Vibe will proceed with a smaller, more intimate all-ages family-friendly event called Micro Island Vibes: Back To The Roots that will take place during the usual Island Vibe weekend (29-30 October).
To feature an open mic and workshops, plus food and craft stalls, the music line-up consists of ten-piece funk-brass leviathan act Bullhorn, electronic duo Mood Swing & Chevy Bass, the soul-reggae vibes of Chocolate Strings, Brazilian/ Caribbean sounds of Solua, the live jungle set of Benjamin Walsh, Afro Canadian soulstress Zaynab Wilson, West End's Madtones, Rapa Nui islander Yoyo Tuki, the super deadly Yulu Burriba Dancers.
Tickets are capped at 500 and there will be a limited number of local tickets available at the Festival gate to Island residents with a 4183 address.
Island Vibe 2022 takes place at Minjerribah (Nth Stradbroke Island) 17-20 February. Micro Island Vibes: Back To The Roots takes place 29-30 October at Home Beach (Minjerribah).
