Ishmael Ensemble Australia 2025 Tour

Ishmael Ensemble
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

UK-based collective Ishmael Ensemble travel to Australia early 2025 for two exclusive concerts, they're debut performances down under.

Founded in 2017 by producer and saxophonist Pete Cunningham, Ishmael Ensemble, who fuse astral jazz, psychedelic dub, and electronica into a genre-blurring mash of sound, will headline concerts in Melbourne and Sydney in January.

"Absolutely over the moon to announce we're headed to Australia in January! ⛰️✨ We've been far and wide on this wild journey, but this one is gonna be extra special."

After the release of their 2019 debut album 'A State Of Flow' (that features 'The Chapel'), it was their sophomore record 2021's 'Visions Of Light' that established the group as pioneers in the modern jazz and electronic music landscape.

Released last month, they've cemented that reputation of an innovative musical vision with their third longplayer, 'Rituals'. "It's by far our most ambitious work to date, written over the last three years, this one has been a real labour of love," the band posted.

"I knew I wanted to do something different this time round, I wanted to capture those moments of pure elation and euphoria we've shared onstage as well as those moments of raw and intimate fragility we've experienced off it. . . 'Rituals' was written as an album, a longplayer, and I hope, at least once, you'll listen to it that way."

Tickets to Melbourne and Sydney shows are on sale.
