Irish natives Walking On Cars shot to fame in their home country in 2012 with debut single 'Catch Me If You Can', and have been shaking up the scene ever since with their chart-topping hits at home and abroad.
Recently, the indie-pop heroes played a sold out, 12,000 capacity show at Irish Independent Park supported by rising UK star Tom Walker and the irrepressible Lewis Capaldi.
Next month will see the band perform their first ever headline shows in Australia with shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. These dates follow a summer of European festival shows, a completely sold-out UK tour and a clutch of huge arena and outdoor shows in their homeland, in support of the band's new album, 'Colours'.
The band have been clocking up millions of views on YouTube, including the first single from 'Colours', 'Monster'.
Here, each member introduces themselves to a new legion of fans in Australia.
Patrick (lead vocals)
I'm still trying to figure myself out. I tried to be a vegan but. . . pizza. I didn't get into music, it got into me. I know. . . deep! My favourite place to perform is Germany. The fans are great and the catering is off the chain, you can get like proper, full-on vegan meals and then make sh.t of it with a giant rocky road.Sorcha (keys and vocals)
I'm Sorcha and I play keyboards in the band. I first started playing classical piano as a child, but always loved writing my own music and over the years my musical interests have evolved. More recently, I discovered my love of synths and now I can't stop buying them. It has become an addiction; a good addiction.I love playing around mainland Europe, everyone is always so welcoming and the crowds are awesome. My biggest inspiration would have to be my parents. Growing up in a very musical household, I was always exposed to all kinds of music from traditional Irish music, to Chopin and The Rolling Stones.
Evan (drummer)
I started playing drums when I was about 12 or 13; didn't have a clue what I was doing at the beginning. I'm self-taught from reading books, magazines and watching videos. I try to play other instruments too. I started playing piano and guitar, but my playing isn't as good as my theory of those instruments.I like heavy music, but I'll listen to everything really. My musical preferences can change on a daily basis from rock to pop to jazz or dance, it really depends on the mood I'm in. I have great intentions to post more on social media, but tend to forget a lot. My favourite place to perform is in front of an Irish crowd, they are just class in fairness!
My biggest inspiration is Dave Grohl. What a man, everything he touches turns to gold. He's still ranked as one of the best drummers of all-time and he's a guitarist.
Paul (bassist and vocals)
My name is Paul Flannery. I play the bass in Walking On Cars and do a little bit of backing vocals from time to time. I got in to music through my friends; started playing guitar when I was about 12. Favourite place to play is. . . the next place. Every time! Love playing live.Biggest inspiration has to be the fans. We have gotten to know quite a few of them personally now, and I would hate to let them down. I think that's what keeps me moving forward.
