From the western suburbs of Brisbane, Until Home are currently in the process of writing and recording for their debut EP, set for a 2016 release.
This weekend, they are one of twenty bands who will be competing to claim the Ipswich Battle Of The Bands trophy.
Where are you from?
Ipswich, the western suburbs of Brisbane.
How and when did the band start?
We were all friends who would write and perform together in different ways, but we formed Until Home in the later months of 2013.
What are your influences as musicians?
Each of us have different influences; the songwriting of Chris Martin and Ryan Tedder, bands like Paramore and Bastille. We think that's what makes a band's 'sound'. We all brought our own style from our influences to the table and created what Until Home sounds like.
What sets you apart from the other bands?
Our live show. We put everything on the line, 100 per cent. We don't like to be ordinary. Not just stage presence, but a carefully planned set (no matter how short or long) to be as entertaining as we can be with what we have at our disposal.
What can the audience expect from your show?
A well rounded, captivating show.
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Hopefully signed and touring at least our debut album, while recording our sophomore album. We got this.
How will you prepare for the Ipswich Battle of the Bands?
The same as any other show: rehearse, rehearse, rehearse. Each show is as important as the next.
How often do you perform?
This year is filling up; the next few months we are looking to be playing three, four times a month as well as recording our EP due to be released later this year.
Do you have any pre-performance rituals?
Pray, high-five and hug.
What's the craziest thing you've done while on stage?
Let the crowd strum my guitar. Invite a random to come on stage and play tambourine for a song. Turns out he could actually play pretty well.
The Ipswich Battle Of The Bands takes place, 4 July.
