The frontman for Sydney alt-rock band Silvers, Arky Waters has leaned into his solo productions exploring electronic soundscapes with a slew of singles in 2021.
Inspired by the likes of Whatsonot and Jamie xx, Arky's latest release is the blippy, trippy, dank and dark production 'Telepath'.
"I don't believe in sticking to a genre. Why? I make what I want to make and people will feel something if it is true no matter what it is.
"I just want to be honest in my approach and make things I'm really excited about."
In terms of what's in store for the future? "The live show is where I thrive musically," Arky says.
"I'm most excited for the shows coming up – and with that plenty of new music."
Who is Arky Waters? Arky Waters is a way for me to tell my story. No fear, no boundaries – exploration of true self.
I sound like... Everything I listen to. Right now, a lot of electronic music. Really into Paul Kalkbrenner at the moment. Wolf Alice's new album is sick. Dope Lemon I'm loving too. I'm not attaching Arky Waters to a certain sound in terms of what I'm putting out – if it feels good, it's getting released.
My first gig will be... Factory Theatre Fusebox 20 August.
When did you settle on the group's name, and was it a unanimous decision... Around 2019 I came up with Arky Waters.
In the studio I usually... Mix plus critique. Sometimes just hang.
If I could tour with anyone... Friends and family. Imagine mum on the decks, hahaha!
Social media is... Good. Then trap. Then out of trap. Then good again. . . Still in trap. Not good.
