Introducing Singer-Songwriter Emma Burt

Emma Burt
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

A pop-acoustic singer-songwriter from Melbourne, Emma Burt has a passion to write songs with warm, fuzzy melodies while penning lyrics that unpack her own decision-making choices.

After spending most of the first part of the '20s releasing acoustic covers with her musical partner, guitarist Nath, last month Emma released her first original single.

Titled '10 Years', the song details the process of coming to terms with your own past. "'10 Years' is a song about how intense emotions and internal battles can rattle and push away relationships," Emma says.

"Exploring whether time and reflection can heal the past or if you are always going to be pondering why something ended. Does the person that caused the pain deserve the opportunity to give answers years later or is it better to leave the past where it stands?"
