The Greek-Australian punk siblings Nick, Adonis and Apollonia (who are descendants of the Xylouris family, their father being George Xylouris of Xylouris White) recently released their punchy, thrashy, bruising debut album 'What's Wrong With Me': 9 songs just shy of 22 minutes.Embodying the antipodean riffing of AC/DC, Hard Ons and The Angels but with a heavy dose of their childhood loves Bikini Kill, Motorhead, The Prodigy and Rage Against The Machine, 'What's Wrong With Me' is a declaration of the band's quality, a statement that a new Aussie punk staple has been unearthed.
Fresh from slaying the Meredith Music Festival stage, with a summer's worth of live shows planned up and down the east coast, it's time to delve into the world of Frenzee.
Who is Frenzee... We're Nick, Adonis and Apollonia, a trio of siblings born in Melbourne and based in Crete. We've been a band since 2021 and have been living between Melbourne and Crete for the past decade or so. We wrote a few songs and recorded our first EP in our basement and released it via Greek label, Ouga Booga.
We've been on a couple European tours since then and played a bunch of shows in Melbourne earlier this year. We've just released our debut album 'What's Wrong With Me' via Poison City and Ouga Booga. Looking forward to coming back for Meredith and loads of other shows.
Our first gig was... At Bad Tooth in Athens in March 2022.
When did you settle on the group's name, and was it a unanimous decision... Apollonia came up with the name pretty early on and it stuck.
In the studio we usually... Aim to go in, get the job done and get out without draining ourselves or the material.
If we could tour with anyone... RATM.
Social media is... An exhausting, yet very useful tool nonetheless.

To date, our most embarrassing moment was the time... I don't wanna talk about it.
Life on the road can be... Smelly and bad for one's gut health.

If you had to live in a city abroad, where would you choose and why? Athens because it's a great place to have as a base for touring Europe.

If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? Either pastitsio or roasted lamb [Editor: yes please to the pastitsio].
When it comes to pets are you a lover or hater of our furry friends? All up, the three of us have nine dogs.
