The latest signing to Modular Recordings — and the label's first new electronic act in some time — is Sydney trio Movement, owners of a sound that's been aptly described as 'seductive nocturnal music'.
Composed in a bedroom (which, let's be real here, is where it's intended to be listened to), new single 'Feel Real' is the sound of a lucid dream on wax (or, as it happens, Soundcloud). Inspired by classic soul and '90s R&B, the group's members — Jesse, Sean and Lewis — had been working together for some time before stumbling upon the sexy, atmospheric sound of 'Feel Real'.
'Feel Real' hits iTunes on May 24. The digital remix bundle, featuring Morgan Geist, Ta-Ku and Shadow Child, drops on June 21.
Movement will support Flight Facilities on the following dates:
Thu May 23 — Corner Hotel (Melbourne)
Sat May 25 — Oxford Art Factory (Sydney)
Sun May 26 — Oxford Art Factory (Sydney)
They'll launch the single with the following shows:
Wed Jun 12 — Goodgod (Sydney)
Thu Jun 13 — Ding Dong Lounge (Melbourne)
Fri Jun 14 — Dark Mofo Opening Night @ MONA (Hobart)
