Born and bred in South West-Western Sydney, annelise. has been performing since falling in love with singing aged five.
A passion for Timbaland, Aaliyah, Missy Elliot and Beyonce has driven annelise. to further explore the nostalgic worlds of late '90s, early 2000s hip hop and R&B through a modern lens.An experience recording with Delta Goodrem for her 10th anniversary 'Innocent Eyes' album further propelled annelise. to follow her musical dreams. After attending JMC Academy and gaining extra experience with the South West Sydney collective The DM SZN, annelise. is now spreading her solo wings.
Her first single as annelise. is 'Rearrangement'. "I feel like with 'Rearrangement' I've really hit all of the marks I set for myself. Music is all about progress and authentic expression of self. I'm really proud of this song; it's just so real and it's delivered from deep inside me.
"I'm from the western suburbs of Sydney," continues annelise.. "In the media there's often prejudice about where I come from, but we're living lives over here that are diverse and rich with all the different people who call this place home.
"I'm inspired by the people around me, they're what helps make me strong and, as a young woman and an artist, I want to inspire others. That's why I use my music to flex my power and 'Rearrangement' is about all of that."
Who is annelise.... I'm just Western Sydney, Italian-Australian girl trying to rep for my strong, independent women out there!
I sound like... Me – not tryna be anyone else 🙏🏼.
My first gig was... In a pub called the Palace Hotel.
When did you settle on your name? During my DM SZN days. . . had no idea what I was gonna call myself and thought my name was good enough.
In the studio I usually... Focus my everything into my art – also vocal produce HEAVY.
If I could tour with anyone... Beyonce.
Social media is... Draining.
My favourite app at the moment is... TikTok – it's my place to chill and laugh at memes.
To date, my most embarrassing moment was the time... Broke my jeans zipper before a set and had to perform with ma open fly.
If you'll have me on your bill, all I ask is that our rider contains... Lemon and ginger tea – a lifesaver!
If you had to live in a city abroad, where would you choose and why? Italy – it's where my heritage is from and it's beautiful.
Three people you'd like to invite around for a dinner party... Abbie Chatfield (she'd be so fun I reckon), Johnny Depp (also a lot of fun and full of stories) and probably Ice Cube (he's just so dope; I'd love to chat hip hop etc. with him).
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook for us? I would make gnocchi from scratch with homemade pasta sauce, with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on top.

The last time I saw the inside of a gym was... Last night – leg day LFG!
Would you ever partake in a reality show? Potentially – something like 'The Amazing Race' or 'Jersey Shore'. Wouldn't be part of a dating show though. . .
Best local takeaway joint for a midnight feed that will leave you with a food coma? Don't know about midnight feeds, but Frango's is the way to go in Western Sydney.
Last show you binge-watched? 'Bridgerton' for sure. What kept me glued to the screen? Well. . . you'll just have to watch it yourself and find out.
