Brisbane pop-folk songstress Hannah Rosa has been stealing hearts for more than 12 months now.
We introduce you to the young singer/ songwriter who has recently crafted a new single, ‘Buried Alive’, at Airlock Studios.
Who is Hannah Rosa... A 21-year-old singer/ songwriter from the leafy northern suburbs of Brisbane.
I sound like... Soaring vocals nestled on a bed of electric guitars, folky melodies and a driving rhythmic undertow.
My first gig was… Was in a super fancy restaurant at Brisbane Portside! The restaurant manager stumbled across my YouTube videos, messaged me online, and the next thing I knew I was serenading customers and being stuffed with gourmet pasta. My taste buds won’t forget that anytime soon.
In the studio I usually... Have the flu. No joke, every time I book a recording session I seem to get sick a few days before! As a result, I always end up gassing myself with eucalyptus oil and getting drunk on hot lemon tea between vocal takes. (I’m so hardcore, I know).
If I could tour with anyone... It would have to be a toss up between Kate Miller-Heidke, Gabrielle Aplin and Julia Stone.

To date, my most embarrassing moment was the time... I performed at a shopping centre and the event organiser accidentally plugged my vocal mic into the shopping centre’s emergency intercom… I was very popular that day.
Life on the road can be... Actually, my upcoming single launch tour is the first tour I’ve ever done. Ask me again in July!
If you’ll have me on your bill, all I ask is that my rider contains... Xiao long bao (Chinese soup dumplings), frozen yoghurt and sour worms.
Xiao long baoThe scariest scenario I’ve found myself in, was... When I was visiting the Tiger Leaping Gorge in China. On the way back, we caught a bus that must have had the accelerator glued to the floor which, was perhaps not the best choice, considering we were hurtling along a narrow, winding dirt road carved into a cliff-face. And they didn’t have seat belts.
