Glacier is a Brisbane-based electronic trio made up of Andrew Threlfo, Zanna Blackburn and Michael Smallman.
Formed in 2014, Glacier combine brooding electronics with ethereal vocals to create something that is part human, part machine.
Who is Glacier... My name is Zanna and our band is called Glacier. This began as a project for Andrew's and my final, uni assessment last year but we always planned to continue it after we finished uni. Somewhere along the way we also ended up with Michael.
We sound like... A bit of a mixture of things, but there’s a lot of inspiration taken from Sigur Ros, Warpaint and Radiohead.
Our first gig was... At The End in West End.
When did you settle on the group's name, and was it a unanimous decision... At the beginning of last year after getting inspired by some photo’s Andrew’s dad took in Antarctica.
In the studio... Michael and Andrew do a lot of things involving technology that I don’t really understand. I sing and try to communicate ideas using weird sounds because I don’t know the technical terms.
If we could tour with anyone... So many…but I’ll say The National or Lana Del Rey.
Social media is... A good way to waste a lot of hours.
My favourite app at the moment is... Probably Weather+, because I like looking up cold places and imagining what it would be like to wear a coat.
To date, my most embarrassing moment was the time... I once went to give someone selling cupcakes at some markets a cup of tea and spilt it all over all their beautifully made cupcakes. I ended up buying them all because I felt so bad.
Life on the road can be... Exhausting but a lot of fun and definitely worth the effort.
If you'll have us on your bill, all we ask is that our rider contains... Alcohol of some kind.
The most scary scenario I've found myself in, was... Waiting at the top of the Giant Drop at Dreamworld.
What celebrity/ famous person would you love to be spokesperson of the band... Morgan Freeman, to hear him speak.
Three people you'd like to invite around for a dinner party... I think inviting my famous idols would probably make for a really awkward dinner party because I’d be completely starstruck, so I’d rather just invite three friends.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? I’m only good at baking, so maybe cake.
No matter the expense, send me a case of... Kraken spiced rum.
The last time I saw the inside of a gym was... I used a free pass for one earlier this year when it was raining.
What's the one chore you dislike the most? Cleaning bathrooms.
Do you have any phobias... please explain? Snakes, tsunamis and plane crashes.
Would you ever partake in a reality show? If so, what type? I wouldn’t mind being in an episode of 'Made In Chelsea'!
If you could prank any of your friends, who's your target, and how are you bringing them down? I would steal my friend Sophia’s bag after we’d gone out somewhere and make her think she’d lost it.
