An experimental artist/ producer based on the Sunshine Coast, STØNEWÅX seeks sonic worlds separate from the ordinary.
Deep in the exploration of sound and rhythms, this post-genre flow-seeking beatmaker has launched a new kind of project."This is my meditation. . . I'm an escape artist," says STØNEWÅX aka Steve Summers.
A record producer who has worked alongside Paulie B and OJ Newcomb at Yama-Nui Recording Studio, Steve has collaborated with a stack of Sunshine creatives including Dear Doonan, Homewood Sapiens, JaZZella, Chris Ah Gee, Swimsuit Issue, Ziggy Alberts, and Kurilpa Reach, plus many more.
"I have learnt so much creating with all of these great people," STØNEWÅX says. "I'm so grateful. Once you learn enough that you no longer need to fuss the techniques, you can do great things.
"Flow creates art. These songs are the result. Thanks to all the people that support this project. You're awesome."

When did you settle on your artistic name... When I awoke from my artistic slumber.
In the studio, I usually... Spend most of my waking days. I'm a nerd! A sonic explorer. I also help other artists make their records too. Beyond sound, I paint.
If I could tour with anyone... It would be with FlyLo or GLK through Europe or Japan.
Social media is... A tool.
My favourite app at the moment... Synesthesia. . . it's a trip.
Life on the road can be... A journey.
If you'll have me on your bill, all I ask is that my rider contains... Water, good weed, ashwagandha, and lion's mane. It's a balancing act.
The scariest scenario I've found myself in was... Surfing with sharks.
