Brisbane dance-pop band, Dizzy Days shine bright with the release of their debut single 'Take My Heart'.
"'Take My Heart' sees the confusion of an 'on, off' relationship through the eyes of a disco dance tune," vocalist Aisling O’Byrne says."Out of nowhere I had the idea for the bassline, and it grew so quickly from there, I felt like I was being told what to write.
"The emotions in the song directly reflect the way I was feeling; and there was a lot of journaling (AKA venting in the notes app), so everything was pretty fresh.
"I was in an 'ok f... you' state of mind, so the lyrics are very literally saying 'fine, take my heart, tear me to pieces but please, once you're done this time, let me go'."
Who is... We are Dizzy Days. Around November '21, Aisling (singer) put out a feeler on Facebook to gauge interest for a disco, electric-esque band. This is how she found EJ (guitarist); they then slid into Bridgette's (bassist) DMs after seeing her at a gig. Then Mikaela's (drummer) sliding into DMs everywhere x
We sound like... A bit like Dua Lipa and The Jungle Giants, but also a bit like Cory Wong and Parcels.
Our first gig was... Mikaela joined a bit later on and the first gig we played with her was at Vinnies Dive on the Gold Coast with Rum Jungle; very last minute, very spontaneous, very fun.
When did you settle on the group's name, and was it a unanimous decision... THIS WAS HARD! We were initially Made Messy, but nobody had any idea what we were saying when we told them so that was out of the picture. Then we put up some Instagram polls after a bit of deliberation and Dizzy Days stuck.
In the studio we usually... We've only actually been in the studio once, but it consisted of snacks, instant coffee and FAILED TikTok attempts.
If we could tour with anyone... Ok, ok, ok, dream scenario? We would love to tour with Harry Styles or The Jungle Giants, AH!
Social media is... Infuriating but also great?! It's a love-hate relationship, but very satisfying when you know you're doing the right thing.
My favourite app at the moment is... The notes app, always; good for writing, making lists, to-dos that never get done. We're also loving all the typical social medias, duh, except Mikaela and Aisling never use Snapchat; the tiny age gap (a year or two) makes a difference apparently.
Life on the road can be... Look, the furthest we've driven is about an hour but it's always a good time. We never have nothing to say and there's usually someone squished between a couple instruments.
If you'll have us on your bill, all we ask is that our rider contains... VODKA :)
The most scary scenario we've found ourselves in, was... Traffic on the way to Spaced Out Festival. Oh my goodness! We left with an hour and a half to get there; it was a one-hour drive and the time on the maps kept going up and up, and up, s t r e s s! Not to mention this was our second gig with Mikaela.
What celebrity/ famous person would you love to be spokesperson of the band... Leonardo DiCaprio. Great guy, great actor, activist and let's be real he's always punching. . .
If you had to live in a city abroad, where would you choose and why? Probably London. Aisling and Bridgette have family in England, but it's also close to everywhere, except Australia lol, but what is?
Three people you'd like to invite around for a dinner party... Leonardo DiCaprio, Maggie Baird (Billie Eilish's mum) and Amy Winehouse; imagine that conversation, so many different perspectives on the world and art.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? For your entrée this evening you shall receive an enticing chip and dip followed by a delicate Uber Eats special *locally sourced* and lastly, refreshen your pallet with lukewarm tap water, provided by the city's finest distillery.
When it comes to pets are you a lover or hater of our furry friends? LOVERS. We all have doggos, some cats, some horses. . . yes, horse girls represented over here.

The last time I saw the inside of a gym was... Gin? Who said gin? We love gin – with tonic please x
What's the one chore you dislike the most? 1,000 per cent putting away clothes/ cleaning our rooms. It sucks. We all hate it, PARTICULARLY after a show or shoot.
Do you have any phobias... Bridgette hates eyes.
Would you ever partake in a reality show? Yes.
If you could prank any of your friends, who's your target, and how are you bringing them down? Bedazzle Bridgette's bass with googly eyes.
Best local takeaway joint for a midnight feed that will leave you with a food coma? We LOVE Lord Of The Fries. Mikaela loves an Oreo shake and the chicken waffle. Aisling loved the Hawaiian loaded fries when they had them, but the nuggets take a close second – she loves anything with pineapple, sorry team. Bridgette and EJ love to share a snack pack.
Which fictional character best describes your personality? We reckon the Scooby Doo characters: Bridgette would be Daphne, Mikaela would be Shaggy and Scooby combined, Aisling would be Freddie and EJ would be Velma.
Last show you binge-watched? Ok, not really surprising but 'Euphoria'. That sh.t is addictive. Also who isn't into the ENTIRE cast?!
