Brisbane singer-songwriter Logan Skinner's new single is titled 'Better'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

With two previous single releases, Brisbane indie pop musician Logan Skinner has just released his newest song, 'Better'.

Set to feature in his upcoming EP 'Reflection', 'Better' has been released today to coincide with Wear It Purple Day which is dedicated to celebrating diversity and young people from the LGBTQIA+ community.

The song explores Logan's own angst at the prospect of coming out to friends and family, but then details the freedom he experienced once he was able to embrace and express his true self.

"Hi! My name is Logan Skinner. I discovered my passion for music at a young age and it has always been my dream to become a singer-songwriter.

"My music is reflective of my personal journey including my struggles with mental health and traumas, as well as my desire for self-improvement."

Who is Logan Skinner... I am an indie-pop singer-songwriter from Brisbane. I knew from a very young age I wanted to sing because I would hog the mic whenever the karaoke machine came out.

I sound like... I've been told that my music kinda sounds like Troye Sivan mixed with a bit of Lorde's style and a dash of Halsey's rawness.

When did you settle on the artist name... I initially was going to go with my first and middle names 'Logan Paul', but after learning that a controversial YouTuber has the same name, I decided to go with my first and last names: Logan Skinner, to avoid being associated with the YouTuber and his outlandish antics.

In the studio I usually... Laugh a lot, because sometimes my mind blanks and I forget my own lyrics.

If I could tour with anyone... I would love to tour with Paramore. I have been a huge fan of theirs since they first came out, and their 'After Laughter Tour' which I was fortunate enough to see was PHENOMENAL!

Social media is... A little draining, but so important for emerging artists to promote their music and shows.

My favourite app at the moment is... TikTok, because like most people it's the most entertaining app since Vine died, and during iso it was a great boredom buster.

If you'll have me on your bill, all I ask is that my rider contains... Something dairy-free so I don't have a little on-stage accident ;)

What celebrity/ famous person would you love to be spokesperson for you... Justin Timberlake because he inspired my dream to become a singer-songwriter, and I feel like it would be a full-circle moment if he was my spokesperson.

Three people you'd like to invite around for a dinner party (why?)... Supposing I can invite anyone who is dead or alive, I would invite Robin Williams because he's hilarious and I loved his movies as a child. Brendon Urie because he is legend and Taylor Swift because she can write one hell of a song.

If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? I'd order sushi because there's not much I can cook apart from the basics.

No matter the expense, send me a case of... CC & Dry.

Do you have any phobias... please explain? I have arachnophobia. I think it explains itself, spiders are NOT cute!

Would you ever partake in a reality show? If so, what type? You know those crazy Japanese game shows? Yeah, they've always piqued my interest.

If you could prank any of your friends, who's your target, and how are you bringing them down? My friend Taylah is absolutely terrified of moths, so I'd catch one in a jar and pop it next to her pillow. (Sorry Taylah)
