Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Driver consists of vocalist Damión Douglass and producer/ instrumentalist Shane Holmes.

After many years of playing in successful Australian bands together, they decided to create a completely new project in which they could pay homage to the elements of pop culture that influenced them in the '80s and '90s.

The guys recently teamed up with Australian producer Troy Brady to work on their debut EP, 'Crossover'.

Here, Damión answers a few of our questions.

We sound like. . . If synthwave met punk, then invited R&B in for a musical tag-team, we’d be a pretty tight polyamorous relationship.

Our first show was. . . In the studio.

When did you settle on the group's name, and was it a unanimous decision. . . It was unanimous and perfect in complementing our journey to becoming Driver.

In the studio we usually. . . Ensure that it’s a very organic experience, ensure that we are super chilled, fed and ready to be our producer's bitch for the week.

If we could tour with anyone. . . The Midnight, Depeche Mode, Talking Heads, Empire Of The Sun and The Weeknd.

Social media is. . . F...ed.

My favourite app at the moment is. . . Uber Eats, because food is the answer to all things social media can’t answer.

To date, our most embarrassing moment was the time. . . Shane and I played in a popular band in the early 2000s; so details on embarrassing stories are kept pretty tight, except when we all were chased out of a venue by security and a local mob in Melbourne.

Life on the road can be. . . Quite hard. We spent most of our time on the road from 2005 to 2010. We didn’t know what to do with ourselves when we got home. Relationships were hard amd the first chance we got to hop on a plane again, we jumped at it. Fast-forward to 2020 and home is where both our hearts amd heads want to be.

If you'll have us on your bill, all we ask is that our rider contains. . . Red wine, local beer, coffee and finely cut elk.

The most scary scenario I've found myself in, was. . . In an alley in Sydney with my hands down my pants feeling quite vulnerable. There’s actual footage on YouTube, hahaha!

What celebrity/ famous person would you love to be spokesperson of the band. . . Music speaks; we don’t need anyone.

Three people you'd like to invite around for a dinner party. . . Joe Rogan, Conor McGregor and the Dalia Lama.

If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? Cheesecake. Just cheesecake.

No matter the expense, send me a case of. . . Nutella.

The last time I saw the inside of a gym was. . . Yesterday.

What's the one chore you dislike the most? Doing interviews.

Do you have any phobias. . . Spiders. Death to all spiders.

Would you ever partake in a reality show? We did that on MTV Uncharted and we won with our band Avalon Drive.

If you could prank any of your friends, who's your target, and how are you bringing them down? We don’t need to prank our friends, life is a joke enough to be adding extra drama. But if we must, we’d prank our tour buddies.

The last time it was The Veronicas and we got up onstage and started doing the YMCA during their last song. Then their drummer Vic Fox fell off the stage and broke his arm. See what happens when you are an ass?

‘Crosstalker’ EP is available for download via all major online stores.
