Direct from his bedroom studio in Armidale in rural NSW arrives R&B, pop singer-songwriter Mars.
With his self-produced debut EP 'Stuck In Orbit' set to land at the end of February, his current single is titled 'Angel'."The song 'Angel' represents the dichotomy between innocence and lust. It also utilises religious symbols to convey a deeper meaning," Mars says.
"It's a catchy song; I normally have a deeper meaning to my music but this one is simply for the appreciation of wordplay, interesting harmonies, and a nice-rounded 808.
"I guess you could also say it symbolises eternal love."
Who is Mars... Marvin Palad in disguise, who sings and makes music.
I sound like... Well, it goes from Arizona Zervas to Jay Sean. Oh and I think Enrique Iglesias.
My first gig was... In a small local restaurant/ bar called The Minnie Barn.
When did you settle on your artist name? I wanted to change my name, but keep the M in it so I got Mars.
In the studio I usually... Either I have to keep quiet and put some headphones on 'cause my best ideas come at like 2am or sing for hours on end trying to get the right annunciation on a word, or just end up singing musical songs.
If I could tour with anyone... Man, it would have to be Post Malone. The guy knows how to have a fun time and I don't think I'd ever get sick of listening to his music.
Social Media... Is great for interacting, boosting self-esteem, or for looking at memes.
My favourite app at the moment... If we're counting all apps like Netflix then Netflix. 'The Office' is a great binge-watch series. I'm nearly finished though which is kinda heartbreaking.
To date, my most embarrassing moment was the time... I serenaded a girl 'I'm Yours' by Jason Mraz with a ukulele in Year 7; not a great way to become the high school stud and no, I didn't get the girl.

Life on the road can be... Tiring. I hate staying seated for too long, but I travel a lot so.
