Introducing Adelaide Indie Pop Rockers Paradise Club

Paradise Club's newest single is titled 'All You Got'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Together since 2017, Adelaide's Paradise Club are nearing the release of their debut, self-titled album.

The current taste of the record, slated for release in July via the band's new home at Farmer & The Owl, is the sublime slice of Aussie DIY pop goodness 'All You Got'.

Despite its sunny disposition and glistening, shimmering guitars, the inspiration for 'All You Got' came from a series of moments about life, loss and appreciating every moment with those who are still around.

Frontman Gere Fuss explains: "At the end of 2018 I learnt about some family stuff that was going on. At the start of 2019 a close friend passed away. A month later my dog died. It was one of the worst times of my life but I learnt a lot from what had happened.

"The song is about that period of my life, how I should never take the time I have with people for granted, and how thankful I am to have a supportive network of family and friends.

"It's f...ed up how certain things can make you feel helpless and isolated, yet how resilient and understanding of the world you can become."

Who is Paradise Club... A couple of long-time friendship groups that somehow came together to record and play music.

We sound like... We've been told it's dreamy, indie pop, or something like that.

Our first gig was... At the Crown and Anchor Hotel, September 2017. Thanks to Towns, Mercs and all who were there.

When did you settle on the group's name, and was it a unanimous decision? Saw it on the tag of a towel while at the beach ?‍♀️

In the studio we usually... Get up early, maybe go out for breakfast, work for a while, get stuck, oblique strategies, question everything and eat a lot.

If we could tour with anyone... The Smiths, Choir Boy, Kacey Musgraves, Mateus Asato.

Social media is... A necessary poison. Not too bad during a pandemic.

My favourite app at the moment is... Beam It. I love sending money to my friends.

To date, our most embarrassing moment was the time... Gere almost killed us driving across a four-lane highway in Brisbane because Google maps doesn't really work there.

Life on the road can be... Lots and lots of fun.

If you'll have us on your bill, all we ask is that our rider contains... Red Bull, Jatz and hummus, and UE Boom.

The most scary scenario we've found ourselves in, was... Driving home from our first show in Melbourne – we spun out on a wet road and one of our guitars flew through the window.

What celebrity/ famous person would you love to be spokesperson of the band? A Eurovision host because they always have a unique accent and speak very well.

Three people you'd like to invite around for a dinner party... Gere's grandparents and Lil Uzi Vert because we would eat well then go for a drive in a Bugatti.

If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? Pasta with red sauce.

No matter the expense, send me a case of... Cold, hard cash.

The last time I saw the inside of a gym was... Right now.

What's the one chore you dislike the most? Cleaning the toilet.

Do you have any phobias? Yeah heights, but they also make me tingle which feels nice.

Would you ever partake in a reality show? Yeah, Gordon Ramsay's shows.

If you could prank any of your friends, who's your target, and how are you bringing them down? Darryll Carulli and we are making him restring all of our guitars to go to Singapore.

Paradise Club's self-titled debut album is due out 17 July.
