For the first time in almost a decade, Finnish melodic death metal masters Insomnium return to Australia in 2025.
The 'While We Sleep' and 'The Primeval Dark' alternative metallers will headline concerts in Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide in May."We are thrilled to finally announce our Australian tour for May! Our friends of Omnium Gatherum will join as special guests," posted Insomnium.
Known for their haunting melodies and crushing riffs, the Joensuu natives have released two studio albums since they last travelled down under: 2019's 'Heart Like A Grave' and 2023's 'Anno 1696' (that features collaborations with Johanna Kurkela and Sakis Tolis).
With a set list promising plenty of renditions from the newer albums alongside 'fan-favourites and evergreens', Insomnium will be joined by their Finnish melodic death countrymen Omnium Gatherum.

Omnium Gatherum have recently brought back their long-term rhythm guitarist Joonas 'Jope' Koto who replaces Nick Cordle (who is focused on his solo endeavours). "It's great to have the old gang back on the road again.
"At the same time it means Nick Cordle won't be onstage with us, meaning not now nor in the future, as he will focus on his new own musical adventures from this on. . . We want to thank Nick for these years in Omnium Gatherum and wish him all the best luck in the future. We will surely meet at some festival backstage sooner than we can think and will raise a glass 🤘."
