Some three years since she last played local shows, Sydney-born, New York-based indie-folk artist Indigo Sparks will return at the start of summer.
Set to support The War On Drugs and Spoon as part of their Australian tour, Sparke has added two headline gigs in Sydney and Melbourne."Australia. I am so happy to be coming home soon and even more excited that I get to play a few headline shows with my band. I haven't been home in three years! So will finally get to play so many songs for you off the last two records."
Those two albums are 2021's 'Echo' (co-produced with Big Thief's Adrianne Lenker) and 'Hysteria' (produced by The National's Aaron Dessner), which was released this time last year.
"One wild and full year of this record in your hands and the universe. Thank you Aaron Dessner for painting the 'Hysteria’ world with me xox; and thank you all for listening, it means so much to me – I love you."
Indigo's first new music of 2023 is the single 'In The Garden'. "Navigating the waters of time and feminine energy through the archetype and eyes of Mary Magdalene – my new single 'In The Garden' is out now.
"I made this single with the wonderful @patrick_what and @jakeportrait after telling them a wild rambling story about an energy healer and psychic I had visited by whom Mary had made some esoteric contact with me. . . Though I believe she is in all of us manifesting in different ways."
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 13 October.
