Leisha Jungalwalla (This Way North)

AIR, an Australian non-profit, non-government trade association dedicated to supporting the growth and development of Australia's independent recorded sector, continue their In Conversation series with five bespoke NSW regional events throughout April and May.

After recently hosting This Way North's Leisha Jungalwalla in Albury as well as Nina Las Vegas in Wagga Wagga, AIR's team will also travel to Wollongong, Dubbo, Coffs Harbour, Orange and Newcastle – thanks to the support of the NSW Government through Sound NSW.

Each event will offer attendees the chance to hear from the likes of four-time Golden Guitar-nominated singer-songwriter Raechel Whitchurch, the original Red Wiggle Murray Cook, and 2022 Toyota Star Maker winner Max Jackson as well as industry stalwarts.

Participants will offer their thoughts and opinions about their experiences in the music industry via an in-conversation format followed by networking opportunities to delve further into relevant topics and issues currently affecting the independent music scene.

"Are you in #newcastlensw?! @ausindies are hosting this networking night and have invited me along to talk about my career to date," posted Max Jackson. "Send this to someone in Newcastle or surrounding areas who is on a musical journey!"

The Indie 101 event in Wollongong will feature Sophie McComish (Blossom Rot Records, Body Type), Philip Mortlock (ORiGiN Recordings) and Josh White (Third Eye Stimuli) at Franks Wild Years.

The Dubbo stop will feature AIR's CEO Maria Amato alongside Raechel Whitchurch (an artist as well as booking agent at Sure Thing Agency) in conversation as part of SOMAD's Song Writer Sessions.

Folks in the Coffs Harbour area will be joined by locals Angus Field (3%, Aya J) and Sara-Jayne Prince (Archive Mid North Coast).

Meanwhile, Murray Cook returns to his home town of Orange alongside his Mack & Cook and Murray and the Movers bandmate, Lizzie Mack.

Finally, four-time Golden Guitar winner and 2022 Toyota Star Maker winner Max Jackson will be in her home town of Newcastle for the final In Conversation event.

Although free to attend, you need to register your details to attend each event.
