Inaugural SPRINGTIME Offers A Free Music Festival Experience On The Gold Coast

Thelma Plum co-headlines the inaugural SPRINGTIME music festival.

With a focus on spotlighting Australian artists as well as emerging local talent, SPRINGTIME is an inaugural festival taking place on the Gold Coast (2-4 September) whose goal is to grow the event to become the largest free music event in the country.

No tricks. No gimmicks. No hidden fees. Just free live music. To attend is as simple as booking a flight and accommodation then rocking up to witness some of the best music talent Oz has to offer.

Set to headline the 2022 event will be Gamilaraay pop queen Thelma Plum, surf-garage rock trio Skegss and electronic-hip hop duo Hermitude – all three have graced some of the biggest festival stages Australia has to offer.

"See yas on the Goldy in September," enthuses Skegss.

Yet that's just the tip of the action, with the likes of Sneaky Sound System, Alex The Astronaut, JK-47, Skunkhour, Haiku Hands, Ninajirachi, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, The Lazy Eyes and triple j host and DJ Ebony Boadu also headed to SPRINGTIME.

To be staged across multiple outdoor stages alongside some side-show partner venues, SPRINGTIME will also incorporate the Gold Coast Music Awards, which will be held at the iconic art precinct HOTA.

"We can't think of a better way to welcome in spring on the coast than with an all-age contemporary music festival like SPRINGTIME," Festival Director Mark Duckworth says.

"The Gold Coast has such a strong calibre of artists emerging from the city and we can't wait to showcase their music alongside the country's best, in this perfect location.

"To also be able to celebrate the scene's achievements over the weekend with our partners the Gold Coast Music Awards will make for an annual party not to miss."

Other artist additions to SPRINGTIME include IVEY, Teenage Dads, Peach Fur, DVNA, Saint Lane, EUCA, Buttered, The Oogars, and Girl & Girl.

There will also be DJ sets from BEKS, VICES, Fletcher, Just Jessie, Gia & Latour and Samin & Lotnnic.

SPRINGTIME takes place in Surfers Paradise (Gold Coast) 2-4 September and is free to attend.
