The ‘merry band of funklords’ that comprise the funk-soul-R&B beast that is Electrik Lemonade are finally ready to release the group’s debut album, 'Squeezed Fresh', ahead of a national run of tour dates in April-May.
The Gold Coast group have been active since 2010 and boast support slots for John Butler Trio as well as showcasing at last year’s BIGSOUND in Brisbane.
"From childhood memories to the ebbs and flows of love and life itself, there are songs that reflect on hate, rocky relationships and passion, along with straight-up party tunes. It's a very diverse album," the group's guitarist, Jakey D, says.
The album, which willl be released 1 April (honest), was recorded with producer Brad Hosking, who moonlights as Amy Shark's bass player as well as playing trumpet with Electrik Lemonade under the pseudonym B-rad.
Tickets for all the shows will be available tomorrow (21 March). Click here for more information.
