Iggy Pop and Norah Jones Lead New Additions To 2019 Bluesfest Line-up

Iggy Pop
National Music Editor, based in Brisbane, Australia.
'Passionate about true crime docos, the Swannies, golf and sleep, I’ve been writing about music for 20-plus years. What I’ve learnt? There’s two types of music – good and bad.’

With a line-up already bristling with the highest-quality international talent of the calibre of Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Paul Kelly, Julia Stone, Mavis Staples, Hozier and 2018 ARIA Hall of Fame inductee Kasey Chambers, 2019 Bluesfest continues to up the ante with another 14 acts confirmed for the Easter classic next year.

Drum roll please… One of the doyens of rock & roll, Iggy Pop will be gracing the stage as will jazz, folk, pop chanteuse Norah Jones.

Irish rockabilly singer Imelda May (who is often compared to Billie Holliday), folk, Americana and vintage rhythm & blues act Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and Grammy Award-winning blues-roots musician Fantastic Negrito have also been added to the bill.

On the local front, ska legends Melbourne Ska Orchestra, iconic storyteller Archie Roach, Melbourne folk duo Pierce Brothers, Sydney blues band Backsliders and Thando ('The Voice' season 3) will be performing as well next year.

Festival and camping tickets are now on sale. Bluesfest organisers expect the 2019 event to sell out in advance. Click here for more information.
