More than a quarter of a century since they last opened their gates to the public, the home of Queensland's favourite beer, XXXX Brewery in Brisbane will host the inaugural XXXX Presents: Live At The Brewery (16 November).
With the music line-up (which will be revealed mid-September) programmed by local legends Jet Black Cat Music (who are hosting indie-music showcase Sonic Boom at The Tivoli Theatre's new inside venue What's Golden next week), this will be the first time in the Brewery's 140-year history that an event like this will be staged inside the home of the Milton Mango.
"Everything from the bands to the poster design for this event has been exciting to programme," Jet Black Cat Music's Shannon Logan says. "I can't wait to share what we've put together with the rest of Brisbane."
Alongside the five, yet-to-be announced bands (both local and interstate) who'll perform at the base of the famous XXXX silos revellers will be able to indulge - stubbie in hand - with a selection of food stalls.
"XXXX Presents: Live At The Brewery gives us the opportunity to invite the community in for a fantastic day, giving the locals a sense of ownership of the place and a bit of that XXXX magic," XXXX Brewery Venue Manager Shannen Crapper says.
"In many ways, the Brewery belongs to all Queenslanders. So we’re pretty excited to share it,” adds Shannen.
