Two of the biggest icons of '90s hip hop and rap, Ice Cube and Cypress Hill, plus 2000s West Coast rap star The Game are headed to Australia next year on a joint tour.
The four-date run that will feature large scale stage production visits Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane next March.This will be Ice Cube's first visit to Australia since 2018 when he became the firsts hip hop artist to headline the Sydney Opera House.
A Hollywood actor and filmmaker with a string of commercial hits dating back to 'Boyz n the Hood' in 1991, Ice Cube has been integral to the emergence of hip hop into the mainstream.
First with N.W.A. on their seminal 1988 album 'Straight Outta Compton', then his own run of solo records including 'AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted', 'Death Certificate', and 'The Predator'. 2023 will see Ice Cube celebrate the 30th anniversary of his fourth soli album 'Lethal Injection'.
"I love performing in Australia. It's been four long years since my last visit and I can't wait to return for a couple of history-making shows in 2023," Cube says.
Californian rappers Cypress Hill need no introduction, the West Coast hip hop superstars have been integral to the scene since their 1991 self-titled debut album.
They've earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, sold more than nine million albums, and have been nominated for three Grammy Awards.
2023 also marks the 30th anniversary of their seminal album, 'Black Sunday,' which features 'Hits From The BonG', 'I Wanna Get High' and 'I Ain't Goin' Out Like That', as well as their iconic anthem 'Insane In The Brain'.
Rounding out the tour will be double-platinum artist and one of the rawest voices of gangta rap in the 2000s The Game.
After being discovered by Dr Dre, The Game's 2005 debut record 'The Documentary' produced the mega hits 'Hate It Or Love It', 'How We Do' and 'Westside Story'.
Each concert will also feature a number of homegrown hip hop acts that's still to be announced.
