It was never a particularly secretive 'secret', but we can confirm that Hungry Kids Of Hungary will headline Mucho Bravado's pre-BIGSOUND bash at Black Bear Lodge tonight.
The press release touted a headline slot by Boys Club, "one of Brisbane's absolute finest exports". If you've never heard of Boys Club, that level of praise might have seemed over the top — until the next line mentioned the band would be appearing "in a less ravenous and central European guise than usual".
In theory, we guess that could apply to some other band named after a central European nation, but trust us — it's Hungry Kids Of Hungary.
It's only right, of course, that Mucho Bravado's flagship act should headline their signature pre-BIGSOUND hit-out; they'll be joined by relative newcomers Little Odessa, Rolls Bayce, The Kite String Tangle and Hannah Karydas (all of whom are exactly the sort of acts you should be seeking out at BIGSOUND). DJ slots will be provided by Mucho 'super pals' The Jungle Giants, Edward Guglielmino, Little Scout DJs and Calling All Cars.
It's all going down at Black Bear Lodge tonight (Tuesday September 10); entry is free for BIGSOUND delegates and a truly limited number of tickets will be available on the door.
