Hungry Kids of Hungary are back and ready to kick off a tour in just over two weeks. It'll be their first Australian headline tour in 18 months, and marks a much-anticipated return for the homegrown talent.
The Brissie indie pop four-piece recently released their latest single Sharp Shooter and unsurprisingly, it's proven a cracker, receiving its ample share of air time on national radio at the moment.
The tour will hit Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Woollongong, and the boys will make a special stop in NSW coastal town Snug Cove to play the 2012 Eden Whale Festival on November 3. The festival celebrates the southern migration of the humpback and other whales, which makes sense, because whales and HKOK go hand-in-hand. But more importantly - the gig is free.
The main support for the tour will be psyche surf-pop duo Gung Ho, but HKOK have arranged to be joined by some special guests along the way. Jeremy Neale of Brisbane brethren Velociraptor (and Tiger Beams) will take the stage at The Zoo, the brilliant Light Giant join proceedings in Sydney and Wollongong, Bad//Dreems will open in Adelaide and Bored Nothing will make an appearance in Melbourne.
These announcements are fresh off of last week's naming of the band's second full length album, You're A Shadow, which will be released early next year.
HKOH also dropped a video clip for Sharp Shooter last week.
