Hottest 100 Australian Songs – Triple J Poll Results

The people have voted in the in triple j's Hottest 100 Australian Songs.

2.65 million votes were cast in the poll which unsurprisngly favoured more recent offerings ahead of matured classics from The Easybeats, Daddy Cool (number 45 today but previously number one here) and ther ilk. In jjj's own words, "it was a countdown that spans generations, but it was one group that came out in full force with their votes: the 18–29-year-olds. That's right, Gen Z (and a few Millennial cuspers) turned up in droves with their votes, putting their stamp on the Hottest 100 of Australian Songs."

With somewhere around 80 unique artists (ed: we'll get to the exact number next week) we checked out how many of these Aussie artists had graced the front cover of scenestr mag. We've found 30 and counting. Perennial favs such as Hilltop Hoods, The Living End and Regurgitator which have featured more than once have not been double-counted.
