To celebrate the 40th anniversary of their very first live show, Aussie rock legends Hoodoo Gurus will play a five-date national tour this December – and they're bringing US indie darlings The Dandy Warhols with them.
Set to play concerts in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, the Hoodoos have also released a new song today, titled 'World Of Pain' – another instant slice of Gurus' gold."We are thrilled to be going around Australia to play for our fans again," enthuses the band.
"Even better, we are honoured to be accompanied by our admirable friends, The Dandy Warhols from the US.
"Between the two of us, there are gonna be plenty of opportunities for crowd sing-alongs, and after the turmoil of the last year and a half, that's gonna be incredibly therapeutic for everyone.
"You can be certain that both of our bands will be fired up and rarin' to go."
Regulars of the live touring circuit for the majority of their 40 years together, Hoodoo Gurus have accumulated 9x ARIA Top 20 albums, 9x ARIA Top 40 singles and a swag of multi-platinum albums – not to mention being inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame in 2007.
This December will also see Hoodoo Gurus release their first studio album in more than a decade.
The Dandy Warhols are legends in their own right; the 'Bohemian Like You' and 'We Used To Be Friends' stars recently celebrated their own 25th anniversary together as a band.
General tickets go on sale from 2pm EST on 28 May. More information.
