Update - 17 July, 2025: With their Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane shows selling out within hours, Hilltop Hoods have added second concerts in Adelaide and Melbourne. Scroll down for the details.
As they gear up for a European summer run of live dates and the release of their new studio album, Australian hip hop royalty Hilltop Hoods will tour nationally this summer.
'The Nosebleed Section', 'Cosby Sweater' and '1955' hitmakers will headline arenas in Hobart, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth next February-March."Over the last few years we stepped back from touring to complete our album," shares Suffa. "Now that it's done we can't wait to get back on the road.
"In a lot of ways we're more energised than ever and have been putting together a show that we're really proud of and excited to share."
As for what the set list will look like, we chatted earlier this week with Pressure (stay tuned for that feature interview dropping soon), who shared the group will be working on the set list for the European shows in the coming days.
"We're meeting up on Wednesday to have our first proper rehearsal to work some of the new songs into the set for Townsville [One Street One Day festival], but for us Townsville was fantastic timing, because we're going to Europe for a month in August.
"It's a process of putting as much new music into our set as possible, but it's a bit of a balance for us as well, given how long we've sort of been doing it.
"We've got a very big catalogue and there's a lot of songs, very old and somewhere in between, that people want to hear and expect to hear in our set, and we want to keep those in as well."
Their first studio album in six years, and ninth record overall, 'Fall From The Light' (to be released 1 August; pre-order it) was recorded across multiple sessions in Adelaide, Darwin, Melbourne and New Zealand, and was produced by One Above with additional production from Sesta and Suffa.
The Hoods have already teased the new album with the 2025 singles 'Don't Happy, Be Worry' and 'The Gift' (the latter featuring MARLON) as well as 2023 Gold-certified single 'Laced Up'. The next studio single, 'Never Coming Home feat. SIX60', drops this Friday.
"This album has been an exercise in patience. Six years is a long time between albums, but there's a good reason for that," Suffa says.
"There was a lot happening, in the world and in our lives, but it turns out (from my perspective anyway), that time was the album's strength, not its weakness. We've never been so thorough, so pedantic with an album before.
"The result is something that's been carefully crafted with an extreme attention to detail. It's an album that we're really proud of, and a body of music that we can't wait to share with everyone."
Along with MARLON and SIX60, the 12-song 'Fall From The Light' record also features a couple of collaborations with rising Adelaide pop singer Nyassa.
"We really took our time with this one," adds Pressure. "We put more years into it than any other of our albums because we wanted it to be our best work to date. Putting it out after so long feels more monumental and exciting than ever."
Adds DJ Debris: "After the longest period between albums, I'm so proud to be able to finally release this body of work to our listeners. . . and really can't wait to deliver these new tunes live."
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 17 July.
