The legacy of jazz legend Louis Armstrong lives on in Brisbane through his grandson, Herb.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Herb grew up listening to his grandfather practise and play with his bands. Now living in Brisbane (for more than 15 years), Herb will bring that Bourbon Street flavour to The Lounge in Nundah with his tribute show, 'The Louis Armstrong Legacy'.
As lead, guest vocalist, Herb will be joined by big band Art Deco Dance Orchestra and together they will take the audience on a musical journey through Louis' extensive catalogue of hits and rarities. It will be a reunion of sorts for Art Deco Dance Orchestra's Musical Director Joe Howman who first met Herb 15 years ago and spent the next 5 as his trumpet player.

Joe says he feels a special chemistry when Herb sings his grandfather's songs in the style of the legend himself. “As old mates we are looking forward to performing together again,” Joe says.
“What you can expect from 'The Legacy Of Louis Armstrong' is a great show full of emotion, energy and fun. Herb is a natural entertainer who puts every fibre of his being into each performance. People love to see him because of the energy he projects, a lot like the powerful intensity that Louis Armstrong projected to his audiences from his two favourite instruments, his trumpet and his voice.”
'The Louis Armstrong Legacy' is a unique night of nostalgia that works to keep alive the music and memory of one of the 20th century's most influential and iconic performers.
