If you thought a Tuesday night (25 August) in Adelaide would stop metal fans from attending a gig, trust me it didn’t happen.
There were no excuses; such as had to work, kids or basically anything you can think of, stopped the fans from coming out. Adelaide fans treated a Tuesday night like it was any given Saturday gig, as this was the metal community of Adelaide getting together to witness one of the finest acts going around today.
No matter what the problems or stress people might've had before the show started, this was an outlet to let loose and stand side by side with everyone as brothers and sisters in arms looking out for each other.

The night started off with local support band Life Pilot. You could tell from the get go that a large percentage of the crowd were only there to see Hellyeah. That didn't stop this young band from entertaining the crowd and whipping the crowed into a frenzy (or at least trying to).
With an edge, Life Pilot showed what dreams are made of when you work hard at what you do; you will reap the luxuries that come your way. And that is exactly what Life Pilot proved on the night. With rawness and a killer attitude, that showed an influence of Pantera, Life Pilot could perhaps be the next big thing if they continue to been given the opportunities to showcase their talents to a larger audience.
It's been five, long years since Vinnie, Chad and the others graced our beautiful shores, but the wait was worth it, as Hellyeah opened up a can of whoop ass on the Adelaide fanatics.
With the release of their latest album, 'Blood For Blood', Hellyeah was welcomed to the stage with more enthusiasm than they could wish for. Five years of waiting, the fans united as one to belt out their lungs, raising the horn devils, sticking it to the man and basically living in the moment we all like to call 'right now'.
Hellyeah opened their set up with 'Soul Killer' with the amplifiers screaming to the ears of the crowd no matter where you were situated. Vinnie Paul, as usual, always plays those drums with pride, passion and joy, which even Animal from 'The Muppets' would be proud to hear.

Chad Gray’s stage presence and vocals showed how he has gone from strength to strength, as he has truly reinvented himself to be the frontman he is today. 'Blood For Blood', 'Demons' and 'War' followed, it was great to see some theatre being brought into the show. Just before 'Blood For Blood', bassist Kyle Sanders spat blood (fake) onto the face of Chad for that more demonic expression that the song gives to the audience.
Chad really knows how to grab the audience's attention by his message, hand gestures or just basically knowing that each and every one of us is still that heavy metal kid at heart, no matter how old we are.
Another crowd pleaser was 'Moth', which is also one of the singles from their latest album, was well received with the Adelaide crowd. This song is very close to the members’ heart, as you can see their emotions showing throughout the duration of the song. A lot can be said with 'Hush' as well, as this was another song off their latest album that gave the audience a chance for a bit of a sing-a-long, dance and smiles all round.

For those that weren't there, they truly did miss out on a bombastic performance that Adelaide have been screaming for since Soundwave pulled the plug on this great city of ours.
With a 14-song set, Hellyeah promised to kick our asses, and make sure that no one left disappointed. The wait was well worth it, but it surely won't take another five years before we see the almighty Hellyeah touching down in Adelaide again.
Did we have fun? OH HELLYEAH!!!!!!!!!
