Hello... fellow Adele Brisbane fans!
The countdown has officially started for Adele's self-titled concert, which will have not one, but two spectacular shows at the Gabba 4-5 March.
To be honest, I'm a little bit disappointed about the venue. Being a Paddo local, I really was hoping she would follow in the footsteps of many who have come before her and have her show at Suncorp Stadium. Easy access for everyone to get there, with two train stations nearby and a bus system that can drop of concert goers below the stadium.
Makes sense right?! Wrong. It's not going to be easy at all.
If you were planning on relaxing at home with your mum and going out to dinner, having a wine and rocking up an hour early to get to your seat and be all settled for the show... think again.
3 HOURS TO GET TO ADELE SHOW
According to Deputy Mayor and transport committee chairman Adrain Schrinner, it's going to take about three hours to get to Adele's show. If you're planning on using your Go card for the evening, Mr Schrinner is warning there's going to be a struggle if you're not #prepared.On top of that, there is another slight issue #firstworldproblems. Lord Mayor Graham Quirk has outlined that because bus and train drivers need ample rest time between shifts (we all do), there won't be enough staff to tackle the usual Monday peak-hour commuters to work.
“It's not just the 60,000 from the stadium, it's the Sunday night backing up with the Monday morning peak that is also a terrific concern,” the Lord Mayor says. There's nothing terrific about it.
If you're smart, you'll take the day off on Monday because it's just too much of a hassle.
