The annual Indie-Con Australia Conference returns to Adelaide in July, bringing together Australia's independent music industry for two days of professional development and networking.
Presented by Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR), Indie-Con focusses specifically on issues relevant to the independent music sector and its various stakeholders.
This year's opening keynote address will be delivered by Executive Chair of IMPALA Helen Smith, with Mom+Pop co-owner and co-president Thaddeus Rudd lined up for the closing address.
In her role at IMPALA, Helen has helped oversee the success of thousands of independent companies and artists. Helen's opening keynote will address the work of IMPALA and its ongoing efforts to grow the independent music sector, return more value to artists, promote cultural diversity and entrepreneurship, improve political access and modernise perceptions of the music sector.
Thaddeus Rudd will present the closing keynote address sharing the story of Mom + Pop and offering insights into the key factors that contributed to the label’s rise to success. Mom+Pop is a New York based independent record label that was founded in 2008.
Indie-Con Australia also includes the presentation of the AIR Awards (25 July), acknowledging the outstanding and inspiring talent of our national talent pool.
