American nu metal, rap veterans, HED P.E. return to Australia early 2025, continuing their relentless touring schedule that has seen them perform across the US and Europe throughout 2024.
Fresh from playing Louder Than Life festival in the US (alongside Slipknot, Slayer, Motley Crue and Korn) at the weekend, HED P.E. will headline concerts in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in February. Now three decades into their career, HED P.E.'s G-punk style incorporates rock, punk, rasta, gangsta rap, and soul, with the band fronted by Jahred Gomes (the group's only surviving original member) releasing such hits as 'Raise Hell', 'Bartender' and 'Renegade'.
Though not a band to play to nostalgia, HED P.E. have continued to release new material throughout their 30 years, with 15 studio albums to their name including 2023's 'Detox'.
"'Detox' embarks on a spiritual journey from a state of chemical enslavement to self-liberation, and then, ironically, back again," Gomes says.
"I composed this from an intimately personal standpoint, as I grappled with addiction throughout my life. On this album, I'm unapologetically candid, addressing topics such as sexuality, substance use, and a hardcore lifestyle.
"I've incorporated more rap elements, and the music is notably heavier and thrash-oriented. I discovered the inspiration to delve into some gritty subjects. This album truly grants the audience what they've longed for, without compromising artistic integrity."
In 2024, HED P.E. have released joints with P-Wig ('Blue') and Aspects ('All Original').
Tickets are on sale.
